We are always looking for fun and unique ways to spice up events, all the while keeping in mind the impact that event will have on our environment. Almost every event involves some sort of culinary item/s. Just like decor and colors, food really should represent the overall style and personality of either the event itself, or the couple (if it is a wedding). How fun would it be to serve street tacos or wood fired pizza at your next party?! Your guests would have such a unique experience ordering from a food truck and it’s guaranteed to stand out as a special memory for everyone. Many caterers today are taking steps to be more eco-friendly and are doing a great job. But, if you are wanting to step out of the box, or better yet, save some cash, it is time you meet the amazing food truck industry!
You may think the idea of driving food around on 4 wheels is not that Eco-friendly, but actually, it leaves a much smaller carbon foot print than most standard restaurants and caterers. Simply by design, food trucks have to conserve water and electricity to function in their small spaces. They often move only a couple times per day and use local produce instead of shipping in from all over the world. Not to mention, starting a food truck business is much easier than opening a full on restaurant, giving us more small local businesses. Did I mention it is a great way to save some cash?!?!
If you really want to go green with your event…I have good news. Some super Eco-friendly minded foodies have taken huge steps toward self-sufficiency. Here in Colorado we have trucks powered by solar panels and reused vegetable oil. Trucks that use on locally sourced food and trucks that offer food served up in bamboo. I listed some of Colorado’s most Eco-conscious trucks below for your viewing pleasure. If you aren’t throwing a party and just love food trucks…follow these guys on twitter to find out where they are serving up some yummy goodies next.
